Press Releases
Lichtenstein/Saxony, October 20, 2009 – With immediate effect CENTURION offers retrofit kits for Piper and Cessna airplanes in Brazil. The Brazilian flight safety authority ANAC has issued the required type approvals (STCs) to CENTURION.
“Thanks to these permits we are immediately in a position to reequip PA 28 and Cessna 172 models that are already in operation in Brazil with our economical and reliable CENTURION engines,” commented CENTURION chairman of the board Jasper M. Wolffson. These widely used planes in Brazil can then be operated with kerosene (Jet A) – a fuel which, in contrast to the conventional airplane fuel Avgas, is available almost everywhere in the country.

“As the largest South American national economy, Brazil is naturally an extraordinarily interesting market for CENTURION,” Wolffson indicated. Experts anticipate that due to its favorable economic growth and geographical conditions the demand for economical small aircraft in Brazil will continue to increase. Sales of the CENTURION retrofit kits are carried out via the proven CENTURION distributor Epic Aviation, which also markets CENTURION in other South American countries.

With approximately 30 distributors and more than 300 service centers worldwide CENTURION is represented on all of the important markets involved in general aviation. Altogether more than 2,600 CENTURION 1.7 and 2.0 engines have to date completed over 1.7 million flying hours in general aviation. This figure includes Cessna 172, Piper PA 28, Robin DR 400 and Diamond DA 40 and DA 42 model engines. Both private customers and flight schools appreciate the reliability, range, economical consumption and low emissions offered by these engines. In addition, kerosene (Jet A) is both inexpensive and available worldwide.
